What a wonderful start to the 2016 season today! We had gorgeous weather, calm seas and some amazing wildlife including an encounter with a Humpback Whale During our tour we also encountered around 20 Bald Eagles, Porpoise, countless Harbor Seals, and even a Peregrine Falcon! The Humpback was “Heather”, one of our favorite Humpbacks and a regular visitor to the Salish Sea We noticed a large amount of birds feeding on bait balls (small schooling fish that create a ball for protection from predators), including Bald Eagles swooping down into the balls! From the amount of bait balls seen we concluded that there must be a lot of food in the water right now, possibly Herring as BC is seeing a huge amount of Herring in our local waters this year. Great weather, awesome guests, and lots of Marine Life, we could not have asked for a better start to the season.
